This year looks to be a big gathering. The descendants of Joseph Marion and Sarah Jane Pollard Wallace will be meeting in Clifton, Texas, at the city park from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with lunch at noon. A worship service will begin at 9:00 am.
The only remaining building from the Mustang Community “downtown” is the creamery. During the 1920s, the creamery was just one of a number of buildings including a store, blacksmith shop, filling station and the store owner’s residence.
It could really operate as it always did, except for the fact that it would “smoke” up the house. Soooo, maybe not. Although it would be fun to have a wood-burning stove working in the kitchen, I’m not into smoky walls.....
In 2002, Mark agreed to gathering money for the Wallace family to donate a lamp post to the city of Clifton in honor of Joseph Marion Wallace. A number of family members graciously donated to this project and the lamp post was purchased.
